By definition, Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Psychologist and author Daniel Goleman identifies 3 types of Empathy:

Cognitive Empathy: the ability to understand another’s perspective

Emotional Empathy: the ability to physically feel what another person feels

Empathic Concern: the ability to sense what another needs from you

These are particularly powerful super-strengths when trying to understand your audience and communicate with them.

This can be leveraged for an individual or group of individuals to help you connect with particular segments of your customers, prospects, employees and partners.
